ALL ABOUT THE PRINCESS CHARLOTTE DRESS
All our dresses are handmade within our very own atelier by our team of experts in smocks and embroidery. For a short while, our designer, Monique Ramahay, collaborated with other childrenswear brands for whom she imagined and produced dresses.
One of these design was an exquisite lavender blue timeless chic Peter Pan collar and puffed sleeves dress with coral smocks and butterfly bow to tie in the back. An elegant and classic shape with a pop of color to add a joyful twist.
This beautiful dress was gifted by our partner to Princess Charlotte of Wales, member of the British royal family. Daughter of William and Catherine, Princes of Wales, she is the third in line of succession to the British throne.
To our utter amazement and delight, the dress which we had lovingly imagined and made from the very first to last stitch, was worn by the princess during an official trip to Canada as part of a royal tour in 2016. We could not have been more honored.
In tribute to princess Charlotte and to awaken the princess lying in each and every little girl, we have made a special re-edition of this dress which can be purchased online or in our Parisian boutique L'Île aux Fées. The fabric, shape, design and thread colors are identical, only the smocks have been slightly changed out of respect for the princess.

We have also created a boy's bubble version for your little princes. It's perfect for matching sibling looks and family photos.
We even have a doll version.
What a joy to see our design worn all the world and inspiring artists too! Thank you.
In the video below, you will see Nathalie hand smocking the dress. She is embroidering upon the tightly pleated fabric. Entirely handmade, smocks require great patience, regularity and meticulous gestures. The eyes guides the movements of the hand.
Last but not least, whilst collaborating with the founders of Bonpoint several decades ago, our designer created a special design with little boats for Princess Charlotte of Monaco, who was at that time two years old. The picture was published in the magazine Point de Vue and had a huge success! Charlotte is therefore our lucky name hence the choice of our brand name.
